FREE 15-MINUTE CALL

If you are interested in knowing more about my professional background, the field of landscape architecture or to gain an initial overview on whether my design process is a good fit for your project, let’s talk!

Please CONTACT me to schedule a free 15-minute phone or online video call introduction.

DESIGN CONSULTATION

An on-site design consultation is an essential starting point to meet one another in person, visually explore existing site conditions together, talk through and imagine your ideal landscape design features and how they may be best achieved. We will allow time to sketch out some initial, conceptual design ideas together on paper.

I highly encourage all stakeholders to be present at this first on-site meeting in order to receive a full scope of client input.

On-site design consultations are typically 2-3 hours and offered at my normal billing rate of $120/hr, prorated to the quarter hour. Minimum consultation fee is $240. Travel time and mileage is included within the Portland Metro area.

DESIGN FEES

As a very general rule of thumb, most property owners who choose professional landscape construction services typically invest a total of around 10-20% of the value of their entire property. Sometimes less, sometimes more. This figure depends entirely on what an individual client wants and needs out of their property’s exterior spaces, as well as the personal and return on investment value to them.

Likewise, most property owners who choose professional landscape architecture services typically invest around 10-20% of the overall cost of landscape construction. Sometimes less, sometimes more.

In summary, landscape architecture design fees typically range from 1-4% of the value of an entire property.

I estimate my fee proposals based on an estimated number of hours to fully complete a client’s selected design process requirements, rather than a fixed percentage of projected construction costs (as many architects do). Yet, the above-stated, industry-standard percentage rules of thumb generally apply to most projects.

PHASING

Phasing is a very typical approach for many clients and I am happy to tailor my fees to fit most reasonable budgets and phasing goals. Planning for a phased approach depends on the logistics of landscape construction and coordination for the overall design to fit together seamlessly over time.
